The Many Ways to Play Magic at MagicCon: Atlanta

Anyone who’s ever been to MagicCon can tell you: there’s playing Magic, and then there’s being completely submersed in it for an entire weekend.

MagicCon is where we go deeper into everything we love about the game, with more ways to play, more of the Multiverse to explore, more artists and creators to meet, more competition to watch, and thousands of fans to share it all with. 2026 was an unforgettable year for MagicCon, but in 2027, we’re diving even deeper.

From February 26–28, 2027, MagicCon makes its inaugural voyage to Detroit for three days celebrating everything Magic: The Gathering. It marks the first MagicCon of 2027 and the beginning of our biggest year yet, with Detroit kicking off four (yes, four) MagicCon events to fans around the world.

For this first stop, we’re plunging into the world of Nauctis: The Sunken Realm, and where better to do that than the heart of the Great Lakes? So, grab your decks and crew. It’s time to Dive Into the Gathering.

MagicCon: Detroit
When: February 26-28, 2027
Where: Huntington Place, Detroit, Michigan

Two returning badge options give you even more ways to make MagicCon part of your 2027 plans.

After hearing from fans looking for a way to secure the VIP experience across the entire MagicCon schedule, we’re bringing back the Mythic VIP Bundle. The bundle includes a Black Lotus VIP badge for all four MagicCon events in 2027, along with additional perks and swag.

The Family Spark Badge also returns for 2027 as a package created specifically for families attending MagicCon together. The bundle includes access to the Family Spark Lounge, featuring stroller parking, a charging area and a relaxation zone, along with special family programming and plenty of Magic goodies for kids and grown-ups alike.

Every 2027 MagicCon badge comes with a Farseek promo card featuring art by Flavio Greco Paglia, seen below.
