Community Panel Magic!

There’s a lot to do at MagicCon: Amsterdam. We’ve got a show floor full of exhibitors, the Mana Stage is packed full of extravagant entertainment, and ticketed play events are sure to keep you playing at all hours of the day. But believe us when we say you’ll want to set aside some time to participate in our community panels!

Community panels are a more intimate and exciting set of events full of guests and interactive content for the whole Magic community. Live discussions, deep dives, and trivia with your fellow fans are all on the list of panels happening in Amsterdam this summer. Check out the schedule below to start planning now!  

You Make the Unknown Card

11:30 AM – 12:30 PM

Principal Game Designer and MagicCon Unknown Event mastermind Gavin Verhey brings this unique experience to Europe as he turns you all into game designers to create new cards to be played in a future Unknown Event!

The World of Cubes

1:00 PM – 2:00 PM

Discover what makes this format special and learn how to build your first cube. It is one of the best ways to express yourself in Magic and grow a community of players and friends.

Do You Know Magic?

2:30 PM – 3:30 PM

Try your hand at out-smarting the Cardmarket Co-Hosts! Carl will ask members of the audience to answer questions about the game we love and tally up the audience score against Thoralf & Jamin's.

Magic and Parenthood

11:30 AM – 12:30 PM

It can he hard as parents to find time, space, and resources to play Magic. This panel will help you find new ways to balance fun and responsibility.

Global Humans of Magic

1:00 PM – 2:00 PM

James Hsu has been interviewing Magic players and creatives for the Humans of Magic podcast for over 8 years across several countries and cultures. Join him as he shares his takeaways and learnings from conducting this passion project, and some perspectives that you'll find interesting as a global citizen of the world.

Battle of Wits Live

Join us for a live version of the Magic: The Gathering quiz show! Hosted by MaxMakesMagic, it features three of your favorite Magic content creators battling it out in a trivia contest.

The Magic of SeriousFun Camps

SeriousFun Children’s Network is the leading network of medical specialty camps in the world, serving children living with more than 130 different medical conditions and their families, totally free of charge. SeriousFun programming and facilities are skillfully adapted to be inclusive and accessible, taking into consideration the medical conditions and needs of all campers. ome meet a few of the incredible campers, volunteers, and staff who make this Network so special and learn how you can get involved!

Magic and Mental Health

11:30 AM – 12:30 PM

Magic: The Gathering is an incredible game that is loved by many people all over the world. It has helped countless individuals in dealing with difficult times in their lives by teaching them valuable skills and providing them with a sense of community. Engaging with the game can be an excellent way to explore decision-making, stress-coping mechanisms, and recovery. However, these topics are always often not discussed openly whether at a casual or competitive level.

Hidden Nerds: Talk Commander with Pepijn Lanen, Xander Vrienten, and Lize Korpershoek

1:00 PM – 2:00 PM

Commander is one of Magic's most popular formats, and it's not just you and your friends playing it, but also a handful of Dutch celebrities. During this panel, guided by commander player and MagicCon creator Rico Neeter, fans of the format can ask their burning questions about Commander to musician Pepijn Lanen, bassist Xander Vrienten, and presenter Lize Korpershoek. What are their favorite colors and cards to play? What is their favorite instant or game mechanic? Are they salty players or group huggers?

Magic: The Trivia

2:30 PM – 3:30 PM

Do you know your Blightsteel Colossus from your Steel Squirrel? Can you tell John Avon from Justyna Dura? Do you know the Converted Mana Cost of Benalish Trapper? If so, this quiz is for you! Bring along your phone and participate in 3 interactive quizzes about different aspects of Magic: The Gathering to maybe win some prizes -- and more importantly, glory!
